Maybe I've been living under a rock but I didn't know that I was supposed to set my clock forward until about 10pm Saturday night. I was at a bar with friends and I got very excited. One of the happiest times of the year, in my opinion, is that first week after we've "sprung forward" when you leave school or work at the normal time and realize that you still have hours of daylight left to enjoy. It finally feels like summer is around the corner. And it may feel even more special if you've spent the past 4 months running in the dark after work.
It is tremendously helpful that, here in DC, changing our clocks quite literally changed the temperature. We sprung forward and so did the weather. So I spent a lovely Sunday playing frisbee, chatting in a very lively Dupont Circle, and getting my first (mild) sunburn of 2012. It was the perfect way to kick of one of my favorite times of year.
Do you tend to rejoice at your added hour of daylight or are you annoyed at losing an hour of sleep? What signs do you look for to let you know that spring is in the air?
OMG I love the cheery blossom pics. talented!
