Scary Morning Running and Yummy Dinner Making

I think I'm going to have to take a hiatus from 5 and 6 mile runs before work, at least until after daylight savings time. I have been running much more often in the evening anyway and, as I mentioned last week, it is just too dark now. Today, I left my house at 6:10 and was literally scared for the first 15 minutes because it was completely dark outside. And, if you don't know it yet, I am a worrier. Running alone in the dark scares me a little bit. Especially early morning when there are fewer people on the streets than there are late at night. Here I am as I left my apartment.

No, I had not yet looked in a mirror and yes, I was still half asleep. Luckily, running wakes me up more than anything so I was in my groove in no time. And I had an amazing, hilly run in the rain. Here I am looking a little more awake (and sane) afterward.

The rest of the day was spent working, stretching in the bathroom at the office (yes, sometimes I do that), and cooking dinner with friends.

Baked chicken with carrots, onions, honey, and mustard sauce; sweet potato, chickpea, onion, cilantro and tahini salad; fruit; and cupcakes from Old Town. Big time yums and some good, healthy fuel. My workout plan for tomorrow is undecided, as I'm moving my twelve mile run up to Friday. Maybe take the day off but probably a light Nike training workout. If nothing else, I will be reporting on the amazing Sunday that I spent kayaking on the Potomac and biking in the city. I also apologize for the delay in sharing the story of my Fit Frisbee Folks, I am still working on collecting information from the group. Check back soon!

Are you scared of working out in the dark?
As stated above, yes. Unless I have a buddy.

Do you ever stretch in weird places or is that just me?
Bathroom, metro, car, frisbee field, under my desk. Pretty much anywhere. I love to stretch and I don't do it enough.
